Product details
CSB MSJ-650, part of the MSJ series, is a 2V valve-regulated sealed lead-acid battery introduced by CSB. It uses an AGM absorbent glass mat separator, with gas recombination efficiency up to 99%, and the manufacturer positions it as a high-capacity, long-life model for telecommunications float standby power. Nominal capacity is 650Ah, with test conditions of 1.80VPC, 25°C, and the 10-hour rate. At 25°C, when discharged at the 8-hour rate and 1.75VPC, capacity is 658.40Ah; at the 20-hour rate and 1.75VPC, capacity is 682.00Ah; at the 8-hour rate and 1.80VPC, capacity is 640.80Ah.
Electrically, at 25°C the float charge voltage range is 2.21 to 2.25Vdc, and the equalization charge voltage is 2.35Vdc. Maximum charge current is 195.00A, maximum discharge current is 3900A, short-circuit current is 13235A, and internal resistance is 0.26mΩ. The battery uses a pure lead construction and a proprietary element formulation, features a maintenance-free design, and is suitable for high-capacity float standby power applications. It is manufactured according to IEC 60896-21/22:2004 and is UL1989 recognized (MH14533).
Construction: The case is made of flame-retardant ABS (UL 94-V0); the terminal is an I4 threaded copper alloy type and can accommodate an M8 bolt. Terminal torque is expressed in three ways: 126±25 Kgf·cm, 109±22 Lbf·in, or 12.3±2.5 N·m. The entire battery weighs 46.60kg (102.71 lb); width is 171.0±2.0mm (6.73±0.08 in), height is 339.0±2.5mm (13.15±0.10 in), and depth is 307.0±2.5mm (12.09±0.10 in).
Temperature conditions: Nominal temperature is 25°C (77°F). Discharge is allowed from -15°C to 50°C (5°F to 122°F); charging and storage are allowed from -15°C to 40°C (5°F to 104°F). Self-discharge performance: stored at 25°C for 90 days, self-discharge is less than 10%; maximum storage at 25°C is 6 months, and it must be fully charged before use. If storage temperature exceeds 25°C, it needs to be charged in advance.
Service life: When used in float charge at 25°C, the MSJ-650 has a design life of up to 20 years, meeting the greater than 12 years requirement of the Eurobat (20°C) Very Long Life classification. The product is used for float standby power in the telecommunications field; with its high-capacity and long-life design, it can meet the need for continuous backup power.
