In the field of valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery manufacturing, CSB Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (CSB Energy Technology Co., Ltd.) is in a globally leading position. The company currently has more than 2000 employees, and its products are sold in more than 100 countries and regions. It was established on November 28, 1986, with Taiwan Kobe Battery Co., Ltd. as its predecessor; in 1987 it formed a joint venture with Shin-Kobe Electric Machinery Co., Ltd., and in May 2020 it officially changed its name to CSB Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Manufacturing sites are located in Taiwan, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and mainland China, forming a cross-regional manufacturing and supply layout. The company's global headquarters is at 11F, No. 150, Section 4, Chengde Road, Shilin District, Taipei City, Taiwan, China (111052); its mainland China headquarters is operated by CSB Energy Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., located at Room 2304, Youyou International Plaza, No. 76 Pujian Road, Shanghai; the Shenzhen branch is located at Room 209, 2nd Floor, Building A, Xincheng Plaza, No. 86 Puxia Road, Liuyue Community, Henggang Subdistrict, Longgang District, Shenzhen.
The batteries use a valve-regulated sealed lead-acid (VRLA) structure and achieve efficient gas recombination through absorbent glass mat (AGM) separators, with a recombination rate of up to 99%; the pure lead grid structure combined with a proprietary formulation gives the products maintenance-free, rechargeable, and leak-proof characteristics. In terms of products, the company currently has 142 models on sale, grouped into 20 series; voltage types include 2V cells, 6V, 12V, and 512V lithium battery cabinets. Capacity-type products range from 4.5Ah to 1700Ah, while power-type products range from 18W to 9000W (5 to 15-minute rate).
At the application level, the products can be used in scenarios such as data center UPS, renewable energy, telecommunications, general-purpose, and electric mobility. Electric mobility serves deep-cycle applications for personal mobility devices such as scooters, wheelchairs, and RVs; general-purpose products meet daily needs such as emergency lighting, security, and medical equipment; telecommunications is used for float-charge long-duration backup in wired trunk stations, wireless macro stations, and wireless small cells; the renewable energy field is suitable for deep-cycle and long-duration discharge in residential, commercial and industrial, and utility-scale energy storage; data center UPS mainly serves the uninterruptible power supply needs of enterprise, cloud, hyperscale, multi-tenant, edge, and colocation services.
Nominal temperature is 25°C, discharge temperature range is -15°C to 50°C (some series -25°C to 50°C), and charging and storage temperature range is -15°C to 40°C. Charging voltage at 25°C gives float and equalization ranges by battery or cell, for example, 12V batteries float at 13.5-13.8 Vdc and equalize at 14.4-15.0 Vdc; design life is expressed under 25°C float standby conditions as 5 to 20 years, with some series offering Eurobat (20°C) classification. In the technology and standards section, the company's product model documentation notes references to standards such as IEC 61056-1/2:2012, IEC 60896-21/22:2004, IEC 60254-1:2005 / IEC 60254-2:2008, IEC 61427, UL1989 Recognized (MH14533); Calor XHT-FT is additionally marked with UL 1973 Recognized (MH66728).
