CSB Battery Product Portfolio and Technology Roadmap Overview
Since its establishment in 1986, CSB Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has long focused on the research, development, and manufacturing of valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries, with products sold in more than 100 countries and regions. Its product portfolio is centered on VRLA-AGM technology, with a total of 142 models in production across 20 series. Voltage coverage includes 2V cells, 6V, 12V, and 512V lithium battery cabinets. Capacity models range from 4.5Ah to 1700Ah, and power models range from 18W to 9000W (5–15 minute rate), meeting multi-level needs from routine backup to high-power short-duration discharge.
In terms of technical approach, CSB's VRLA design uses absorbent glass mat (AGM) separators to achieve efficient gas recombination, with recombination efficiency up to 99%. Combined with a pure lead grid structure and proprietary formulations, it features maintenance-free, rechargeable, and leak-proof characteristics. Model datasheets cite standards such as IEC 61056-1/2:2012, IEC 60896-21/22:2004, IEC 60254-1:2005, IEC 60254-2:2008, IEC 61427, and UL1989 Recognized (MH14533); Calor XHT-FT is also marked as UL 1973 Recognized (MH66728). Design life is stated under float standby at 25°C, ranging from 5 to 20 years, and some series indicate Eurobat (20°C) classification.
For data center UPS, CSB offers multiple product lines: the HR series are high-rate discharge pure lead batteries for lower-output UPS and fast-discharge backup; the HRL series are long-life high-rate pure lead batteries for high-power data centers and UPS loads; XHRL and its front-terminal version XHRL-FT further increase high-rate output; XPL and XPL-FT address high-capacity pure lead requirements for long-duration backup; the UPS series are high-power pure lead batteries designed specifically for uninterruptible power supplies; the XHT series are for mission-critical power in harsh environments. The PowerBox series provides a 512V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery cabinet solution with a maximum continuous discharge power per rack of 300kW, nominal capacity 140Ah, and nominal energy 71.68kWh. Communications support RS485, CAN, Ethernet, and dry contacts.
In telecommunications, the MSJ, MSV, and MU series are 2V high-capacity long-life VRLA-AGM batteries. Among them, MSJ can provide up to 20 years of float standby service, and MU further extends capacity based on MSV/MSJ; the TPL series are front-terminal long-life pure lead batteries for multi-hour backup in broadband applications; the XTV series are for indoor and outdoor telecom broadband scenarios. For renewable energy, the RE series are pure lead carbon high-capacity batteries with excellent cycle life and long service life, available in 2V and modular 2V configurations; XTV-WT is for harsh environments in wind power generation. General-purpose applications are covered by the GP series for security, emergency lighting, and medical equipment, and the GPL series is the extended-life version. For electric mobility, the EVX series are durable deep-cycle pure lead batteries, and the EVH series improve cycle life and durability based on EVX.
Overall, CSB uses VRLA-AGM as its technology foundation and, through differentiated approaches such as pure lead grids, front-terminal construction, high-temperature designs, and lithium battery solutions, forms a product matrix covering data center UPS, telecommunications, renewable energy, general-purpose, and electric mobility. Charging voltage specifications are stated at 25°C by battery or cell; for example, a 12V battery has float charge 13.5-13.8 Vdc and equalization charge 14.4-15.0 Vdc. Temperature range is nominal 25°C, discharge -15°C~50°C (some series -25°C~50°C), and charge and storage -15°C~40°C, providing clear reference for selection and operation and maintenance in different scenarios.
