Analysis of the Technical Characteristics of the CSB Calor XHT-FT Pure Lead High-Temperature Battery
Within CSB Energy Technology's pure lead high-temperature battery product line, the Calor XHT-FT is one of the models; according to its official positioning, it serves extreme power density, short-duration, and mission-critical UPS scenarios. Unlike ordinary backup batteries, this series focuses on stable discharge under high-temperature conditions, so dedicated design has been applied from material selection to manufacturing, making it suitable for applications with stringent continuous power supply requirements.
In terms of manufacturing process, the Calor XHT-FT uses the In-Case Formation (ICF) process, with formation completed directly inside the battery case, combined with a proprietary catalyst and PC-ABS plastic. The benefits of ICF are more streamlined production steps and higher product consistency; the proprietary catalyst is used for gas recombination and internal reaction control at high temperatures; PC-ABS plastic balances heat resistance and mechanical strength, helping the case maintain structural stability at higher ambient temperatures.
Technically, this series retains a valve-regulated sealed lead-acid (VRLA) architecture, using an absorbent glass mat (AGM) to achieve efficient gas recombination, with a recombination rate that can reach 99%, while also offering maintenance-free, rechargeable, and leak-proof characteristics. Its high-temperature tolerance and long life are mainly based on a pure lead grid structure and proprietary formulation. In terms of terminals, the Calor XHT-FT can be equipped with front or top terminals, allowing users to flexibly choose the layout based on the actual space in the cabinet or battery rack and maintenance method.
In terms of standards and parameter definitions, the Calor XHT-FT carries a UL 1973 Recognized (MH66728) marking; the series documentation also lists reference standards such as IEC 61056-1/2:2012, IEC 60896-21/22:2004, and IEC 61427. For temperature specifications, the nominal value is 25°C, the discharge range is -15°C to 50°C, and the charge and storage range is -15°C to 40°C. Design life is given under 25°C float standby conditions, ranging from 5 years to 20 years. Charging voltage is also based on 25°C, with float and equalize ranges distinguished by battery or cell, for example, a 12V battery has a float charge of 13.5-13.8 Vdc and an equalize charge of 14.4-15.0 Vdc.
In terms of applications, the Calor XHT-FT is focused on uses such as data center UPS that require high power density and short-duration discharge, and can also be an option for mission-critical backup power in high-temperature environments. During selection, users should verify specific specifications against official model documentation based on site temperature, discharge rate, and backup time requirements; in addition, float voltage and temperature compensation settings should be used to ensure the battery achieves the expected service life and reliability under high-temperature conditions.
